How We Help Your Student Shine
Below is a closer look at the Vocational Services we offer. Our goal is to meet your student exactly where they are and provide the tailored support they need to reach their highest potential.
-
For students who need ongoing assistance to maintain their employment, we provide long-term support. This includes regular check-ins, retraining if job duties change, and ongoing advocacy to ensure your student remains a successful, valued member of their team for the long haul.
-
Getting a job is one thing; keeping it is another. This training focuses on the vital "soft skills" employers look for. We cover communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and interview preparation, ensuring your student is confident before they even step through the employer's door.
-
Every student is unique. Our Limited Vocational Evaluations (LVEs) and comprehensive Work Evaluations are personalized assessments designed to uncover your student's specific strengths, interests, and support needs. By observing them in simulated or real-world work tasks, we can confidently recommend the best career pathways.
-
We don't just point your student toward a job board; we actively partner with them. Our team assists with resume writing, application submission, and interview coaching. We leverage our network of inclusive community employers to find a position that aligns with your student's goals and abilities.
-
Starting a new job can be intimidating. Our certified Job Coaches provide one-on-one, on-site support to help your student learn their specific job duties, integrate into the company culture, and communicate with their supervisors. As your student gains confidence and independence, our coaches gradually step back.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
Our vocational services are provided in partnership with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA). To begin receiving services with The Joshua Tree, your student will need to be registered and approved through GVRA.
